One-sentence summary

A preschool Bible-centered, activity-oriented curriculum.

Description

This series of books is a two-year, four-book curriculum for preschoolers (ages 4-5). Each teachers guide has one theme for twelve to sixteen lessons. The lessons give basic Bible truth.

Each book comes in a basic teaching kit. It includes the following:

  • The teaching visuals packet has colorful plastic figures to cut out, teaching pictures and four paper-bag puppets.
  • A teachers guidebook
  • A sample of one color and action book kit. These are notebooks that are put together one page per lesson. Each page can be colored. Each child needs a kit. Instructions for the activities are included.
  • A sample of a Bible word card sheet
  • A stick-on storyboard is needed. Backgrounds for the stick-on plastic figures are put on it. (Only one board is needed for all four books. The board is 11" x 14".
    • Book One, Tell Me About God has twelve lessons. The lessons show god as Creator, who sees sin and who sent His Son. It includes lessons on God's creation, Adam & Eve, Jonah and the birth of Jesus. Forty plastic gfigures are included.
    • Book Two, Tell Me About Jesus has sixteen lessons. The lessons teach the life of Jesus from his early ministry through his ascension. The lessons show Jesus as God, as kind helper, as friend of children, and as the living Savior. Thirty-five plastic figures are included.
    • Book Three, Tell Me How to Trust God has fifteen lessons. The lessons encourage trust in the Bible, in God's Son, in God's care and in prayer. The lessons are about Noah, Josiah, Daniel, Joshua, David, Peter and others. Sixty plastic figures are included.
    • Book Four, Tell Me How to Please God has sixteen lessons. The lessons teach children to please god by loving him and others. God wants us to obey him too. The lessons include Moses, Joseph, Dorcas, Elisha, and others. Sixty-eight plastic figures are included.

Considerations

  • The beginning of each book gives teaching ideas and training.
  • The use of plastic figures for the storyboard rather than paper flannel-graph figures will be useful in hot humid areas. However adequate organization and storage mmust be provided for these figures so that they can be reused.
  • Each guidebook provides patterns to be used in the large lesson mural.
  • An agreement with Bible Centered Ministries International (BCM) permits you to copy the children's activity books. This means that you will not have to pay the $3.99 (USD) cost per child.

Limitations

  • Some supplies needed for the activities may not be available in all cultures.
  • Some of the pre-story time activities will not be culturally appropriate in non-western societies.
  • An agreement with Bible Centered Ministries International (BCM) permits you to copy the children's activity books. This means that you will not have to pay the $4.00 (USD) cost per child.
  • The description of the Bible story will need to be made culturally appropriate.

Guidelines for Use

  • Use with preschool children.
  • Use with older children in less technical cultures.
  • Use in Sunday school, children's church programs, vacation Bible school or weekly Bible clubs.
