Description
The Story of Jesus is a set of three paperback books. As a set they are one of the easiest to read Bible stories in the world. Each book has been graded and introduces a few new words in each lesson. These new words are repeated several times. When these three books have been presented, listeners will know the story and the vocabulary of the Gospels.
The author, Franck C. Laubach is known as “The Father of Literacy.” He is the one who designed the “each one, teach one” system of literacy.
The title of the third book is The Parables of Jesus It teaches more advanced words.

Considerations
- These books are written in Special English. Special English is a 1,500 word vocabulary of simple English. Each sentence has only one thought. Besides the limited vocabulary it is written in a plain simple style. Each sentence has only one thought. No idioms are used. (an idiom is a phrase or expression that has a different meaning from the regular meanings of the separate words in it.)
- In this third book the paragraphs are longer but still simple.
- Each lesson has some new words that will be used in the lesson
- Each chapter has a small colored picture that helps explain the lesson.
- As the lessons continue, each lesson is longer.
- At the end of each book there is a list of all the new words.
Limitations
- All pictures show western looking people.
- Some pictures show parts of people or places. This might confuse those who are not picture literate.
- Using capital letters for names of some people (Jesus or places (Africa) might be confusing in some cultures.
