One-sentence summary

The world's greatest story retold for every child in simple English.

Description

This children's Bible includes all the main stories of the Old and New Testaments. They are a series of short stories. Modern American English is used, but God's purpose is clearly stated.

Considerations

  • For ages 7-11 years old.
  • The Bible reference is given for each story. This helps readers to find the related verses in their Bibles.
  • The pictures show people who are dark skinned and who look like people from the middle east.

Limitations

  • Many of the colored pictures show parts of people or scenes. These will need to be explained to children who are not picture literate.
  • Some pictures are viewed from an unusual distance. These will need to be explained to children who are not picture literate.
  • The picture of Adam and Eve in the garden will be offensive to some cultures.
  • These pictures are not as realistic as those found in Mary Batchelor's Children's Bible in 365 Stories, also published by Lion Hudson.

Guidelines for Use

  • In schools and Sunday Schools.
  • As an audio book with illustrations available on flip chart.
  • As children's radio broadcasts.
