Description
This two-hour video shows how the stories of the Bible tie together from creation through the Old Testament events and prophecies to the birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of Christ, and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on believers with the resulting spread of the gospel, specifically through Paul's missionary journeys. The video consists of two DVDs, one of Old Testament stories (about 80 minutes) and the other of New Testament stories (about 40 minutes). A chronological time line is included, along with maps and a history of the Roman emperors, to show when the events occurred and what other historical events were happening at the time.
Considerations
The video gives a concise and rapid overview of the Old and New Testament. It could serve as an introduction to a deeper Bible study. The short episodes (4 to 10 minutes) would allow for group discussion, questions, and further Bible teaching. The images are generally interesting, uncomplicated, biblically accurate, and should be acceptable for cross-cultural audiences. Limitations
