Mountains are clusters of high earth elevations and lower valley areas.

Mountain areas can be quite rugged with rocky terrain, steep slopes, and deep gorges. This can limit access to certain areas and cause people living in those areas to be isolated.

Climate can vary depending on which way the slopes of the mountain face and the elevation. The higher the elevation, the colder the climate will be and the less vegetation will be present. People in mountain areas generally have an agricultural economy, except for large cities.
