One-sentence summary

A simple message for children about the Holy Spirit living in them.

Description

Jesus In Me was written to accompany The Jesus Story. It tells the reason Jesus arose from the dead. It was to give us the LIFE told about in the Bible. (John 10:10)

The theme of this book is that Jesus died to pay for our sins. But He arose from the dead to give us life. He arose to give us His life. Jesus In Me says that we cannot live that life by ourselves. It tells us that Jesus wants to live that life through us. We are like an empty glove, unable to move or do anything without Him. When we let Jesus take control of our lives, He gives us life and we are able to live our lives the way He planned.

The first twenty pages help tell the message with pictures. The last two pages are for the adult reader. Bible verses are used to explain the ideas in the book in Biblical terms.

This book is available in both English and Spanish as a video or as a DVD.

Considerations

  • The watercolor pictures show children how to become a follower of Jesus. The pictures help explain what that means.
  • The pictures show children of different ethnic groups and cultures. This will help children understand that God loves all children. It doesn't matter how they dress or what they look like.
  • This book could make a short audio book. The pictures would be useful as a flipchart.

Limitations

  • Some pictures show parts of people. This could be confusing to some language groups.
  • One page shows two pictures and will need to be explained in some cultures.
