Health Information

On numerous occasions, Jesus was recorded as healing every disease and sickness among the people. He then commanded us to go, and when we enter a town and are welcomed, we are to heal the sick and tell them of the Kingdom of God.(see Luke 10:3-9)

Teaching a sick person the Gospel is like us trying to learn calculus when we are not feeling well – It will not have very good results. If we can show God's love to the people by bringing healing (which comes from God), then we will have better opportunity to share the Gospel with them.

I am reminded of two accounts in Scripture that I wish to recall for you here:

Luke 10:25-37 “The Good Samaritan” A Samaritan man helps out the man who was attacked by the robbers. He gets him taken care of, though doesn't actually do all of the care himself, and checks back on him later. This shows what we need to do: to care for others, not to abandon them.

In Matthew 25:31-46, “The Parable of the Sheep and Goats,” Jesus tells us, in verse 40, that whenever we do this to anyone, we are doing it unto Him. So in helping others, we are helping our Lord care for His sheep.

So, as Jesus did for others, let us also do for others.
