Edirol MA-7A Computer Speakers
From SPARK
Description
- A powered pair of speakers for computers. Can also be used with Sound Module, CD Player, MD Player, etc.
- Features:
- • 3" full-range speaker; bass reflex ports. Built-in bass enhancer, but can also connect to a subwoofer.
- • Conveniently placed output volume and tone controls on the front of the speaker. Convenient in a setup where a mixer is not available.
- • Allows for two different input sources, so you can listen to audio from any two line-level sources. (Example - both your computer and your stereo.) Input jacks are stereo mini and RCA.
- • Headphones can be plugged directly into the speakers. (This automatically defeats the speakers, allowing you to mix without disturbing others, and without having to disconnect anything in your setup.)
- • Well-built wood construction. Magnetically shielded for close proximity to your computer monitor.
- • 8-1/2” (H) x 5-3/4” (W) x ~7-1/2” (D)
- • Power Supply: AC 117 V (though apparently AC 220/230/240 V are available in some parts of the world): 50/60 Hz.
- More information is available on the Edirol/Roland website (http://www.rolandus.com/products/)
Considerations
- A compact desktop speaker setup with reasonably high sound quality.
Evaluation
- These speakers live up to the reputation of Edirol. They are well built (of wood) and have quality sound. The controls are conveniently located on the front of the powered unit, and the speaker is protected by a metal screen. They have a good appearance showing quality in manufacture.
- For a comparison of three brands of computer speakers (Edirol MA-7A, Audioengine 2, and Altec Lansing VS2420), see: Computer Speaker Comparison 1.
