A short story of a young boy learning about right and wrong.

Description

Broto is a young Indonesian boy who likes to play instead of work. When he learns about the prodigal son, he decides to believe in Jesus. The story shows that even young children know when they have done wrong. They can ask for God's forgiveness. They can believe in Jesus.

The story was written for children ages 7 to 10 years. They would like to hear the story told by a storyteller.

The booklet has nineteen pages and has seven short chapters. Each chapter has two or three pages.

Considerations

  • Both the people and clothing look Indonesian. The animals and scenery show a rural setting in Indonesia.
  • Some drawings are not the same as the story. For example, the story says that Broto is leading 100 ducks. The picture shows him with eight ducks.
  • Broto is too young to be in school. He can count to 100. This is unusual.
  • Broto cares for the 100 ducks. Young children in Indonesia are given this kind of work. The adult owner leaves because of an emergency.

Record on an audio cassette and use with flash cards. Use as a radio drama with sound effects.
